The CTFROOM website located at https://ctfroom.com is a copyrighted work belonging to CTFROOM LIMITED.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By logging into the Site, you agree to be compliant with these Terms and represent that you have the authority and capacity to enter into these Terms. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE TO ACCESS THE SITE. If you disagree with any provision of these terms, do not log into or use the Site.
2. Ethical Use & Non-Malicious Intent
As a cybersecurity training provider, CTFROOM grants you access to simulated environments ("Vaults"). Your use of these tools is subject to the following:
Authorized Testing Only: You agree to use the skills, tools, and scripts provided by CTFROOM only within the designated lab environments.
No "Real-World" Attacks: You shall not use any knowledge or tools gained from CTFROOM to attempt unauthorized access, disruption, or damage to any external third-party systems, networks, or individuals.
Prohibition of Illegal Activity: Any use of the platform to facilitate illegal hacking activities will result in immediate termination of your account and, where necessary, reporting to the relevant authorities in Nairobi, Kenya, and your local jurisdiction.
3. Access to the Site
Limited License: Company grants you a non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable, limited license to access the Site solely for your own personal, non-commercial educational use.
Certain Restrictions: You shall not: (a) commercially exploit the Site; (b) reverse engineer the platform architecture; (c) use the Site to build a competitive training platform; or (d) bypass any rate-limiting or security measures protecting the CTFROOM infrastructure.
4. User Content & Intellectual Property
Ownership: Excluding User Content (comments, forum posts), all intellectual property rights in the Site (including labs, code snippets, badge designs, and documentation) are owned by CTFROOM LIMITED.
Feedback: If you provide suggestions or "Write-ups" for labs, you grant CTFROOM a worldwide, royalty-free license to use and display that content to improve the platform experience for other users.
5. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to:
Upload malware or "live" viruses to the platform outside of designated "Malware Analysis" labs.
Harvest data regarding other users or attempt to "cheat" the leaderboard through automated script queries.
Interfere with the stability of our servers or create an undue burden on our network.
6. Release of Liability and Indemnification
- Release of Claims: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you hereby release, waive, and forever discharge CTFROOM LIMITED, its officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability, claims, or demands of any nature whatsoever, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Site, participation in cyber-drills, or the application of skills learned within the platform.
- Assumption of Risk: You acknowledge that cybersecurity training involves interacting with simulated threats and that you use the Site at your own sole discretion and risk. You are exclusively responsible for any damage to your hardware or loss of data that results from such use.
- Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CTFROOM LIMITED against any third-party claims, losses, or legal fees resulting from your violation of the Ethical Use Policy or any malicious activity conducted by you outside of the authorized lab environments.
- Limitation of Liability: Notwithstanding the above, if CTFROOM LIMITED is found liable for any reason, our total liability to you shall not exceed fifty U.S. dollars ($50).
7. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access at our sole discretion, particularly if we suspect a violation of the Ethical Use policy or the Acceptable Use policy. Upon termination, your training progress and badges may be permanently deleted.
8. Dispute Resolution
All claims and disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis. Unless otherwise agreed, all proceedings shall be held in English and governed by the laws of Kenya.
